Anal hygiene
Before having anal sex, you should clean your anus. If you have regular bowels and you have washed thoroughly, there is no need. To ensure being free of traces and smells, you could rinse by means of an enema. There are several kinds of enemas: e.g. Microlax or a water enema, using the shower hose. Attachments can be bought at a sex shop.

Tips for anal rinsing:

  • First go to the toilet and try defecating.
  • If you should rinse with water: use clean tepid water.
  • Do not use any disinfectants.
  • Using the water hose: moderate water pressure.
  • Insert some lubricant in your anus and put some on the end of the water hose.
  • Relax your anus muscles and carefully insert the hose.
  • After inserting the Microlax liquid or water, relax the anus muscles, then excrements and water are discharged.
  • Do not rinse too often; it may harm your metabolism.
  • Thoroughly clean the tools with soap and rinse with water.
  • If the tools are shared: clean them with a solution of one part bleach mixed with 9 parts water. Then rinse the tools thoroughly with water.

Hair removal/depilation

There are several ways of hair removal, e.g. of the genital area.

Shaving your pubic hair is the easiest and cheapest way.

Downsides of it are:

  • It may cause tiny red bumps and ingrown hairs.
  • You have to keep it up, at least once a week.
  • It may cause small wounds.
  • Irritation of the skin by razor blades or shaving foam

  • Use a new and sharp razor blade and special shaving foam for the sensitive skin.
  • Cool the area before shaving.
  • Stretch the skin tight with your free hand.
  • Do not shave against the direction of  the hair growth.

You can also trim the area close to the skin with scissors or clippers. Be careful not to cause any wounds.

You will be free of stubbles. It hurts, especially the first few times, but the hair does not grow back for four to six weeks.

Tip for male sex workers: waxing is a good way of removing chest hair or hair on your back.

Depilatory cream:

Depilatory cream is a chemical substance that can cause irritation. Buy special cream to be used on the bikini area. It can also be applied to the male skin.

  • Apply a little cream beforehand to check your skin reactions. When no skin irritation occurs, you can use the cream.
  • Avoid the contact with mucous membranes of labia , vulva and anus.
  • Do not use soap, deodorant or other scented products.

Laser depilation

With laser depilation the hair is removed permanently. You need several treatments. This method of hair removal is more expensive.
