Fingering

Fingering means entering your own anus or someone else's anus with your finger. It is important to take your time when starting to finger someone and to use enough lube to prevent damage to the tissue. A good preparation will also help prevent the transmission of STIs and HIV.

The basics of fingering

  • Make one finger moist with lube to prevent damage to both the outside and inside of your anus.
  • Some men use spit when fingering, but unfortunately, spit dries up too quickly.
  • It is better to use lube since it remains slippery for a long time.
  • Massage the outside of your anus with the soft part of your fingertip. Keep your sphincter relaxed.
  • Carefully push your fingertip against the middle of the constrictor muscle until it gives and you can enter.

Relax

Begin slowly so that the constrictor muscle can relax and you (or whoever you are fingering) can get used to the feeling. Once you have passed the constrictor muscle, you will notice that it's fairly easy to slide your whole finger inside. If you are relaxed enough, you can put more than one finger inside.

Prostate

A couple of centimetres past the constrictor muscle, up towards your belly, there is a small, walnut-shaped gland called the prostate. The prostate is one of the most sensitive places in a man's body. By moving your finger and applying a little pressure, you can stimulate your prostate. Massaging the prostate is a way to reinforce your orgasm. Tips for keeping fingering clean and safe: Keep your fingernails trimmed short and smooth (e.g. by means of a nail file) to keep from damaging the inside of the anus and the intestines with sharp nails. Wash your fingers (including your cuticles) thoroughly both before and after fingering someone. If you don't want to come into contact with shit, wear a glove (either latex or non-latex). You can also purchase 'finger condoms' for that purpose.

Fingering and STIs and HIV

It is possible to transmit HIV and STIs through fingering, also if there are wounds on the finger. If your mouth comes into contact with shit, you can become infected with Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B. If the same finger is used to finger different men, STIs can be transmitted between them. If a finger has sperm or blood on it, it can transmit HIV or Hepatitis C.
